We’ve selected some of the most iconic challenging rides in Wales for you to consider in 2024. These can be broken down into smaller sections or completed in full, depending on what you are looking for.

L么n Las Cymru听

370 miles (596km from Holyhead to Cardiff or Chepstow)

The L么n Las Cymru is over 370 miles of quiet lanes and traffic-free cycle paths. It traverses three mountain ranges and two national parks. Some of the most stunning and diverse landscapes in the British Isles.听
The spectacular trail runs the entire length of Wales. Split the ride into two sections; L么n Las Cymru (North) and L么n Las (South). Break it down into smaller sections or take the route on as one big challenge - the choice is yours.听

Celtic Trail

356 miles (576km) from St David's to Chepstow

Running across Wales at its widest point. The Celtic Trail explores the diversity of Welsh culture, history and natural beauty.

Follow traffic-free coastal paths, riverside trails, old railway lines, and quiet lanes. Admire the dramatic castles of Haverfordwest, Pembroke and Kidwelly.听Explore St Davids (Britain's smallest city) and the spectacular Pembrokeshire Coast National Park. The magnificent Llanelli Millennium Coastal Park and the wide sweep of Swansea Bay.

L么n Teifi

100 miles (162km) from听Aberystwyth to Fishguard

Starting in the university town of Aberystwyth. L么n Teifi takes the same course as L么n Cambria along the Ystwyth valley to Pont-rhyd-y-groes. It then turns southwest to cross the watershed and drop down into the valley of the River Teifi.
Passing the handsome towns of Tregaron, Lampeter, Llandysul and Newcastle Emlyn with its castle ruins. The route heads to the coast at Cardigan and ends at Fishguard.
The valley route might suggest some gentle valley cycling. But there are a few tough climbs mixed in.

Taff Trail

55 miles (89 km) from Cardiff to Brecon

The Taff Trail is a manageable and enjoyable long-distance route. From the bustling cityscape of Cardiff to inspiring countryside scenes.
Pass the fairytale-esque Castell Coch and the fascinating Cyfarthfa Castle at Merthyr Tydfil. Continue into the mountain landscape - surrounded by waterfalls and reservoirs.
The route leads out to Brecon. For those with leg energy left, why not extend your ride into the Brecon Beacons National Park?
